Max at 2 Years & 8 Months

He is so smart; smarter than we can take credit for...he knows his alphabet, his numbers up to 20, his basic colors, basic shapes, his body parts, has a great vocabulary, speaks in full sentences and constantly amazes me with the new things he learns and does. He enjoys coloring and likes to read stories. He especially likes "Little Critter" books. He loves the "Safety Kids" and can sing many of the words. He watches his goodnight videos (Scholastic Goodnight Gorilla) nearly every night before going to bed. He loves bath time, unless he doesn't want to take a bath.

We are working on his manners. He has learned to say "Please" and "Thank You" and "No Thank You" and "May I Please." At this point he has no patience though. Once he has said it he thinks it should happen immediately. And he doesn't understand that there are some things that "No Thanks" doesn't get him out of...like bedtime. And "May I Please" doesn't always mean he gets what he wants. He has occasional fits and has this way of whining "no" that just grates on my nerves.

He has become a bit more physical. Jumping and climbing all over the couch. He is great at imagination play. He loves his train table, building towers and any kind of vehicle, especially fire engines. He loves nursery but they didn't even realize how well he can speak because he never says anything. He is good at being alone and a bit overwhelmed with lots of people. Time Out used to be a discipline technique. Now he will ask for a time out when he needs a minute alone with Mom.

He is not a great eater. He likes applesauce, yogurt, peanut butter and baby food specifically squash and sweet potatoes. He won't eat any chicken I make, but loves ChicFila chicken. He rarely eats anything that I make for dinner which I confess I take too personally. Between his pickiness and my state of pregnant-tired-lack-of-creativiness I am really struggling with what to feed him. He doesn't like to get his fingers dirty. He always wants a fork and won't pick up his food with his fingers.

His favorite things to watch are Curious George, Dinosaur Train, Super Why, Leapfrog, Thomas, and Charlie Brown.

He adores his dad! He gets so excited to see him in the morning and when he gets home from work.

He has figured out that there are two puppy dogs and now wants both of them all the time. And has started to call them pukkies.
