Max's Duck Quilt

Jessica made Max a duck quilt which is adorable!!! He likes ducks and thinks this blanket is so fun. He likes to look at each picture and tell what each duck is doing.

He points to his favorites and says, "sunglasses, phone, bucket/shovel and measure/mix." Now he is excited to go to bed in his Thomas and Duck bed. Thanks Jess!!!

Max gets a big bed

I walked in to check on Max and he looked so huge in his toddler fire engine bed. He kept running into the sides and hitting his head and I decided it was time to put him into a twin bed. I spent a few weeks looking on Craigslist until I found one that would work. It came with a full set of Toy Story bedding which I didn't want but I mentioned it to Kate and we decided to just switch. She took the Toy Story bedding for Logan and we took the Thomas the Train bedding for Max.

He was SO excited for his new Thomas bed! He climbed onto the bed even before we got the bedding on and thought it was great. He was ecstatic when we added the Thomas bedding. He had no problem making the switch to the big bed even "playing" naptime for the first few days. He still likes to cuddle before bedtime but he also loves to climb into his new bed.

John's Wedding

What a blast the weekend was! The flight with Kimber, Kate and Mike went smoothly and Mike was our own private chauffer. He took care of all the rental and hotel arrangements while us girls sat around chatting, he did all the driving and kept us all laughing the entire weekend. (Insert joke about Mike with his three wives.)

We had a great time at the BBQ where John instructed me in the fine art of eating crab. The food was plentiful and tasty and it was fun to get to know Audi's family a bit. Back at the hotel we (Mom, Dad, Kellie, Kimber, Kate, Mike and I) played games and were joined by John. We played games until much too late at night and laughed until we cried.

After a morning of gussying we headed to the wedding where John and Audi tied the knot. It was a really nice ceremony and we had a blast hanging out, visiting, eating and dancing.

That night we went to check out John & Audi's place then watched them open gifts. We had an early flight so left to "get some sleep" but instead of going back to the hotel we decided to do some late night shopping. We picked up a basket full of games for John and Audi and went back to surprise them. We had a blast shopping, choosing a gift and surprising John and Audi.

It was a fun-filled weekend that I had been looking forward to and was over far too quickly.

Kidney Infection

After having a great 4th of July I had one day of putting everything away, catching things up from being gone and then I got sick. Tuesday morning I woke up with a pain in my side. By that night I felt like I had a horrible flu. I woke up the next morning feeling so awful that I could barely change Max's diaper. I called my friend Tiffany and took Max to her and took myself to Instacare. I had a fever of 103 and was dehydrated. They hooked me up to an IV to give me fluids and bring my fever down then sent me up to the hospital for a CAT Scan to make sure it wasn't my appendix. After ruling that out I went back to Instacare for more fluids and to get a prescription for antibiotics for a Kidney infection. I went in at 9:30 and finally got home at 7:00 that night. I don't think I have ever been that sick.

I was amazed at how much better I could feel and yet still feel so awful. They said it would take about two weeks before I really had my energy back. Two days later I was back in Instacare because my throat and tongue were raw and sore and food tasted awful. I had Thrush (yeast infection) from the antibiotics. They gave me another prescription to combat the first. It took several days before I could taste food at all and several days more before I really felt like myself again.

Kate was a life saver! Max spent two days at her house and had a great time with the cousins. He didn't seem to miss Mom at all. She had the boys make me this sweet get well card. It was a relief to just be able to sleep all day and just take care of myself.

Max had a great time swimming with his cousins.

4th of July at Kimber's house

Max and I spent 4th of July weekend at Kimber's house while James was in Texas.
Max, Nathan and Hryum had a great time together.

Max loved playing on their jungle gym.

He also played with Harrison,
spent hours on the tractor and
got a kick out of eating lunch outside at the little table.

We went to a concert in the park and took a walk through the Nature Park.

We cheered Kimber on while she ran her race then Max went to his first parade.
He was excited by the fire engine and Snoopy but his favorite part was the chocolate milk.

There was little sleeping during the night but lots of fun during the day.
We had a great weekend together.
