Kidney Infection

After having a great 4th of July I had one day of putting everything away, catching things up from being gone and then I got sick. Tuesday morning I woke up with a pain in my side. By that night I felt like I had a horrible flu. I woke up the next morning feeling so awful that I could barely change Max's diaper. I called my friend Tiffany and took Max to her and took myself to Instacare. I had a fever of 103 and was dehydrated. They hooked me up to an IV to give me fluids and bring my fever down then sent me up to the hospital for a CAT Scan to make sure it wasn't my appendix. After ruling that out I went back to Instacare for more fluids and to get a prescription for antibiotics for a Kidney infection. I went in at 9:30 and finally got home at 7:00 that night. I don't think I have ever been that sick.

I was amazed at how much better I could feel and yet still feel so awful. They said it would take about two weeks before I really had my energy back. Two days later I was back in Instacare because my throat and tongue were raw and sore and food tasted awful. I had Thrush (yeast infection) from the antibiotics. They gave me another prescription to combat the first. It took several days before I could taste food at all and several days more before I really felt like myself again.

Kate was a life saver! Max spent two days at her house and had a great time with the cousins. He didn't seem to miss Mom at all. She had the boys make me this sweet get well card. It was a relief to just be able to sleep all day and just take care of myself.

Max had a great time swimming with his cousins.
