Max's New Curtains

I originally found this material to make pajamas but the truth is I don't feel confident enough yet to try making pajamas AND his cousin Logan just gave him a ton of pajamas. (Really pays to have a slightly older and taller cousin. Thanks Kate!) So I found more of the fabric and made curtains for Max's room. Making curtains was pretty darn simple and hard to mess up. I was very please with the result. And Max...

Well, he loves them!!! The fabric has all the vehicle he loves: fire engines, trains, buses, boats, police cars, bikes and planes. He likes to sit in his chair and tell me all of the vehicles and signs he sees.

Max Goes Potty

Recently we bought a little potty for Max. We had some gift certificates to Amazon and decided to use some of it for this little potty. I researched and found cute little potties that make sounds and all kinds of stuff but they got terrible reviews. This little ergonomical potty got great reviews and is just two pieces to clean.

He has had fun sitting on it although rarely without all his clothes on. We have sat him on it a few times right out of the bath but mostly he just thinks it is a fun chair. Yesterday he wanted to sit on it and when asked said yes without his diaper. Of course that meant he had to have all his clothes off. He sat down for a brief moment and then went to the sink to wash his hands. I saw him start to piddle on the cupboard, grabbed him and set him on the potty. He was so excited to actually piddle in the potty. We had to get Daddy and show him the piddle and then Max sat down again to try to show him how he did it. We cheered him on.

How can it be so cute!?! I realized how funny it was after the fact...cheering him on for going to the bathroom. I know we are far from potty trained but that first step of him actually using the potty and realizing what it is for and how it all works has happened. And he did it himself and was excited for it. And I am so proud!
