Nesting at 38 Weeks

So, word on the blog is that I am nesting. Today was more odds and ends. And although I was having lots of contractions I had lots of energy as well. I scheduled an appointment to have my taxes done Saturday morning. (Because of my Real Estate income it is easier and better for me to have someone do the taxes for us.) This was something I wanted to get done before the baby comes. And sorry Mom but I don't think it will be this weekend. (If I write that do you think it will happen because I said it wouldn't???)

I called about attending a breastfeeding class but found that I missed it for this month. I am not too worried as they do classes in the hospital and even more because I will have the breastfeeding expert (Mom) staying with me.

I got a good start on my Thank You cards and put everything from the baby shower into the baby book. I watered the plants, dusted, hung some pictures, and organized a few things in the baby's room. I also did quite a bit of work. I talked with the boss about the foreman and they have not told him they are letting him go. They really don't want to do it and I think they may end up just trying to make ends meet and get through this tough time.

I mentioned that I put together a menu yesterday and have had quite a few requests to have it posted. Unfortunately I think we eat a bit differently than those of you with larger families. Tonight we are having Magirk's Chunky Cheesy Broccoli & Carrot Soup (to which I add corn) and homemade bread.

Included in my menu for the next week is:
~ Meatloaf
~ Chicken Chili (made w/ onion soup mix, chicken, cream of chicken soup and kidney beans)
~ Pizza & garlic bread (we like California Pizza Kitchen crispy thin crust Sicilian & BBQ Chicken)
~ Grilled cheese & ham sandwiches
~ Corn chowder & five cheese bread (I use the Bear Creek clam chowder and add corn instead of clams)
~ Turkey burgers (Jennie-O lean turkey burgers) take about 8 min to broil
~ Honey mustard chicken w/ mashed potatoes
~ We will eat out this weekend, probably at our favorite Indian place. Not only do we love the food, but it is spicy which is one of those things that gets labor going. We may being eating there frequently in the next few weeks.

I have everything on hand and all of these meals are very simple to make. Maybe this will give some of you ideas for food over the next week. For anyone else who makes a menu...I would love
to know what you are cooking up in your kitchens this week.

Where is it that you guys eat Indian food? I've always been curious to try it but I have no clue where to go!

We've been eating pretty good this week, things like citrus/garlic tilapia, brown-sugar and mustard glazed salmon, and we even tried some lemon artichoke pesto with spaghetti- I loved it and he hated it - lol. The grilled cheese and ham and honey mustard chicken sounds good!

By the way, I hope everything works out with your job in the end. I hope everything works out period :)

Amazing how much we are both getting done as we are only weeks away from birth. Why couldn't we have been doing this all along :S

I love the menu. I will tweak it a little for our family but I did have things come immediately to mind.

I'm glad for both the foreman and for you that they may try to work it out!
