Baby Shower

What a great and fun weekend I had! Kimber and Levi arrived Friday night and along with Baddaddy we went to dinner at Training Table. I gave her the silly fruit bouquet that I had made as a Thank You. I saw this at Edible Arrangements and decided it would be fun to make one of my own. I think it may be the silliest thing I have ever made...but it was so fun.

Kimber had two surprises for me. Well, one for me and one for Baddaddy. First was the adorable diaper cake. I just don't know if I will be able to take it apart!

Second, was the Daddy Diaper Belt that she made for Baddaddy. She even put Baddaddy on it for him.

After all the fun gift giving we hung out (well, I hung out) while she made two yummy cakes for the shower. Cami arrived a bit later that evening and we all had fun talking and laughing.

Saturday morning Kimber bustled around organizing, cooking and preparing. (I helped a little bit :) Cami helped a bunch. Mom arrived shortly before and then the shower began. Kimber had these cute cards for everyone to fill out guessing the baby info and giving advice. We will see who guessed the closest!

Then we played Baby Bunko. It was especially fun remembering that we played Bridal Bunko for my bridal shower. Kimber is great at adapting the game to any fun circumstance. We had yummy food and dessert. (I wish Kimber would cook at my house all the time.) And then for the part that is of course very fun but also slightly uncomfortable for me. Opening gifts. I find it nerve racking to be such the center of attention. I received so many great, beautiful, and useful gifts and I am so grateful to everyone who so generously gave for this baby. I don't have the energy to put up pictures of everything but here is a list of some of the wonderful things I received: Diapers (yeah!) wipes, bibs, toys, blankets, clothes, stuffed animals, burp cloths, socks, teether, picture frame, and a baby carrier. It was so much fun to put it away and feel a little more prepared for this baby.

Saturday after the shower I went to my mother-in-laws for more fun. Along with my two sisters-in-law we watched the movie Lake House while eating popcorn, candy and ice cream.

The entire day was so much fun! I may have over done it slightly as I started having contractions that night. I feel as though the shower was a turning point. I have been looking forward to it and now that it is past, I feel like I really need to be ready. All of a sudden I can think of a million things I want/need to accomplish before the baby comes. I probably won't get to most of it and that will just have to be okay.

Turning point it is! Can you really only be 3 weeks away?? I'm so proud of all the mental relaxation and positive thinking you have been doing. Don't give that up!

I didn't know you were having contractions! Now, girl, you know you'd better take it easy from now on. Don't you overdo it!

The party was so much fun. I really had a good time, and I'm glad you were given some good, useful gifts to help you get prepared.

The movie was fun, too. Sorry, again, for driving you all nuts with my incessant worrying!

Take it easy, and take care! :)
