We found out that my parents would be coming into town Saturday and so decided to have Max's blessing while they were here. It was short notice but we had intended to keep it simple so it was easy to make it happen. We asked Max's Great-Grandpa Liddell to give the blessing. Saturday we had the blessing at our home with the Bishopric, my parents and GG Liddell. It was a beautiful and powerful blessing.
Max and his Great-Grandpa Liddell.
GGL mentioned that it was Max's 38th day of life and gave him a check for $38 to start his mission fund. He also printed out for me several conference talks on children. He is an amazing man and we are so grateful that he is part of our son's life.
Max was worn out by all the excitement.

In the authority and power of the Melchezedick Priesthood and on this 30th day in the life of Max Kian Hill, whose name we pronounce upon him and announce for his identity in the earth and in heaven and do so with great rejoicing and with fervent prayer for this heaven sent little infant boy. And we desire to seek a blessing for him, a blessing of good health and long life and with sound physical body and mind, with strength and energy and love. And we pray also that his mind will be all according to the established order of thy kingdom; that is to say that his physical earthly tabernacle will grow wholesomely to the full stature of his spirit, the spirit of his that was present in the preexistence when he stepped forward with loyalty and devotion when thy firstborn who offered himself at that time and who has since offered himself in all our behalf in his atonement and in so doing may Max Kian be able to partake; starting with those first ordinances; the baptism, the receipt of the gift of the holy ghost, the ordinations to the holy priesthood, Aaronic and Melchezedick, the various activities directed toward those temple ordinances which will be performed on this sojourn on earth and which qualify him to enter into thy presence and thy kingdom once again.
We pray that thy wilt open heaven in his behalf and silently but firmly as he needs throughout his life, let thine angels minister to him and direct him so that he is able to return honor to thee, uphold the honor of his parents James and Kara where their flesh is perfectly blended in his. We do pray that thou wilt recognize each thing that we have said here today and asked. And realize that thy son Jesus Christ, he himself rejoiced greatly over the children and that is because he felt so tenderly, he wept when he took them into his arms in those olden days and this we feel was because in his earthly ministry he missed that tremendous innocence, that air of truth and devotion which was missing at the time of his atonement. We pray for thy spirit and thy protection over this household, the parents the family and all within and do this in the name of thy beloved son Jesus Christ. Amen.

What a great day for you all.
It's so great that GGL could do the blessing. I know he means a lot to James.
I love the idea of the $38. How fun.
Let me know the articles GGL printed off for you. I could use them.
Sounds like it was lovely. :)
Sorry we missed it. We got your message on my cell phone after the event was over, because my cell phone battery died while we were out.
We would have changed our plans, though, to be there if we had known on time.
Thanks for letting us stop by to see him Saturday, though. He sure is a cutie!! ;)
I loved blessing Korben with just family around. It seemed so much more powerful and special because we were surrounded by people that loved us. Logan's was still a beautiful blessing, but it is definitely a different experience having it in a Sacrament Meeting rather than at home. We will probably have our next one blessed at home as well.
I'm glad you had a wonderful experience! You have an adorable little family! :)
