I have always been prone to headaches, but I have never had anything hit me so hard and fast as today. And I don't think it is a coincidence that it happened just as I start working again. Supposedly only to do the draws but there is really no halfway with these guys. I am pretty much back to work and I think my body let me know that I had seriously overdone it.
The morning went fine although very busy. Call after call after call. More draws to do. And then I sat feeding Max and all of a sudden started to see halos and spots. I got up to put him in bed and a wave of dizziness and nauseousness hit me. By the time I got him into bed I thought my head was going to explode and all I could do was climb in bed and pull the covers over my head. I knew Max would not be sleeping for long and I didn't trust myself with him when I was so dizzy and couldn't see straight. So, I called J and he came home from work. He took care of me for a bit until Max woke up and then took care of him. It was such a relief to know that he is so capable of taking care of our little boy. As I lay there I could hear him humming to Max while he fed him. Despite the pain, it was such a sweet moment.
My midwife gave me a migraine prescription when I had such a bad headache in the hospital and that was finally able to relieve the pain, although the side effects linger until I can sleep them off. J made us dinner, did the dishes and took care of us for the rest of the evening. I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Ooooh, I'm so sorry. :( I hate migraines, and no one with a newborn baby should be having migraines.
Glad J was able to come help out. And I hope you get feeling better quickly! Even though your bosses are so obviously dependent on you, try to take it at your own pace.
(((HUGS)))
You have a great husband there KaraNore. I can't imagine J humming to anyone...I think it is adorable that he is such an involved Daddy.
I hope you are feeling better. Your bosses need to buck up and leave you alone for a bit...don't they know about the 6 week rule?
Ditto to what Katie said.
I know your bosses couldn't handle life without you for 6 weeks so that idea is shot, but I wish you could
Be aware that there was a sickness going around here that was exactly like that - immediate migraine with nausea. I had it, dragon had it. The next morning it was gone and everything was fine. It was like a weird fluke. I thought I was going to die though - I haven't had a migraine like that for so long. I hope that's all it was and not something that's going to recur. However, if it's going to happen, it's nice to know that you have J to take care of you and the baby. I'm so glad he is there - what a great husband and father. Great job J!
Something I heard this last weekend about migraines is that "cardiologists are finding some correlation between migraines and a possible hole in the heart" I got the news from someone here who had been tested for it because of chronic migraines and sure enough she had it.
