Today was the first time Max went to church. We just went to Sacrament meeting and it was not a huge success. It is a bit comical now. Even having it at 1:00 we still didn't' manage to make it on time. Its hard to schedule diaper changes and spit ups. We walked in just before the opening prayer.
He was fine for the first bit but the second the organ started for the sacrament hymn he had the saddest (and cutest) pout and started to cry. Guess we haven't been listening to enough of the MoTab. I knew he was hungry and gave him his bottle which would normally calm him, but even while trying to drink it he still kept whimpering and crying. I took him out and we went into the mother's lounge. It took a good couple of minutes to calm him. He is typically so easy going and chill and it was the first time that he has really really cried. After he calmed down and was finally able to drink his bottle, he fell into a somewhat fitful sleep. I went back into the chapel after the first speaker.
He slept through the second speaker, but then it was the High Councilman :) But as soon as the organ started for the closing hymn he woke up and again started to cry. Poor little guy. He will probably always be scared of going to church :)
The topic for the meeting was FHE. I was intrigued when the speaker talked about several times that could be considered examples of FHE in the scriptures; the first being the council in heaven. He said that we don't know if it started with a song and prayer and we don't know who was in charge of the refreshments. But it was a family called together for a purpose and presented a lesson and an opportunity. He listed several other times that families were called together for council, for blessings, for instruction, for rebuking, with singing and prayer. I enjoyed the talk and was glad that I was there. I missed taking the sacrament and hope that next week will be a little better.

It sounds like little Max inherited something from ME! LOL
Though Max's grandma Robyn (my mom) is the organ maestra, I've never really cared for organ music - just the sound of it makes me want to leave the room.
Don't ask my how I've made it all these years through church.... Sadly, it still gets to me most of the time.
Hope it improves!
Great thoughts about FHE's. ;)
I am TERRIFIED of Organs as well. Something about all the big metal pipes....
So of course I am going to add my COMPLETE backwords view of things as well as my two cents. I use to think Fullmer Family FHE was bad(the few times I remember having it) but I am pretty sure we never got so angry that a third of us kids ended up in eternal hell. I guess we were doin okay as a family.:)
