Christmas 2009

It was the first time that Max actually unwrapping anything and although he still doesn't understand it all, he certainly enjoyed his new things. We took it very slow and let him play with each thing until he was ready to move on.

After sleeping in, showering and eating we started with Max's stocking. He was still in his pajamas and fighting getting dressed and I knew he would be excited to put on his new train shirt. He was also asking for a bottle and so I wanted to get his new cup open. It has trucks and cars on it and I hoped that it would help him be more excited about drinking from his cup rather than the bottle. He likes pointing out the trucks on it.

Next came the animal train that I found when Max was only 9 or so months old and have just held onto until he was old enough for it. It plays songs, makes animal noises and moves. He was excited about all of the animals and likes to make the train go. There is a volume switch and an on/off switch which is great. The one thing I wish it had was a switch that allowed it to move without having to hear the same song over and over again.

He has a movie called The Blue Elephant so he was very excited about the elephant.

He loves fire engines and we couldn't resist this when we came across it.
(You can also see his new train shirt.)

The ladder moves up and down and rotates and it has push buttons with speakers and sirens.

James and I kept it simple for our gifts to each other. He gave me the Shannon Hale book Forest Born and I got him the first season of Life.

So he liked pointing to the trucks on the cup . . . did it distract him enough from his bottle? What a fun relaxing morning.

Landon has that same exact fire truck and STILL plays with it. :) Looks like your Christmas went wonderful and relaxing.
