Max Dusting

While I was cleaning and rearranging my bedroom Max discovered the duster.
He was very intrigued and played with it for almost an hour, dusting my boots, the dresser and the floor.

My Friend Tiffany

After a particularly annoying phone call with my boss I put Max's coat on him and we went for a walk. I didn't put him in the stroller; just carried him. We both needed to get out. As I walked around the corner and saw my friend Tiffany's house I realized that she lives less about two minutes away from me. So I walked over to see if she was home. She is a person that you can drop in on without feeling like an inconvenience. She had to pick up her Mom from Trax so we put Max in her little boy's car seat and we went with her. We had a nice chat and I was reminded how much I enjoy her company and that I would really like to spend more time with her. She was just released from Young Woman's which I have been hoping for so we could go to Relief Society together, but I was just put into Primary. We do go to a book group together but that is only once a month.

I had a gift certificate to Olive Garden so invited her to a Saturday lunch. She is one of those people who you don't have anything particular in mind to talk about but end up talking for three hours without missing a beat. It was a great girl's outing.

Dollar Store Finds

I found these cute jungle wall stickers and wall hangings at the dollar store.

Max really likes them.

He has learned that he can play in his bed. When I come in to get him up he will crawl and roll around in the bed like a little puppy rolling away from me and playing hide-n-seek.

The Green Bowl

Max's new favorite kitchen toy.
I give him the green bowl when I need to get things done in the kitchen.

He can entertain himself for quite awhile just pushing around the green bowl and pulling all the tuperware out of the drawer.

Max's Teeth

One night I was reading Max his bedtime story, "I Love You Through and Through." While reading the line, "I love your inside" I tickled his bottom lip and was taken by surprise when he bit me. And that was when I discovered his first teeth.

They make him look so grown up.

Work Frustrations

It has been really frustrating dealing with finishing up this job and preparing everything to turn it over to them. To begin with even though they don't have enough work to keep me, they couldn't seem to find the time to let me train them. And I have really had a hard time letting go. I have spent five years setting up systems, organizing and perfecting and they are going to destroy it all. It feels somehow invalidating...all of the work that I have put in is going to be disregarded, ignored, forgotten and destroyed. On top of that, even thought today was my last day it isn't the end. Because they didn't take the time to learn and because they shouldn't be doing it in the first place, they will be calling me with endless questions. And I haven't been paid for the last few weeks; so I am still sucked into a job that isn't mine anymore. I keep telling myself that it isn't my concern but it all just sucks!

This morning I finished up everything I needed to do. Tonight I handed them all the paperwork and files and turned over the QuickBooks to them. I do hope that they will get back on their feet; for their sakes as well as mine. And if there is a huge mess at that point then it will just mean more work for me as I put it all back together. They both gave me a hug as I left and I wished them good luck and then walked out. I am glad it is done; I wish it weren't happening at all, but it is and it has been very emotional and frustrating.
