Cookie Men 2

After the fun Max had decorating cookies we decided to invite the cousins over to share in more cookie fun. Max and I made a batch before they arrived so they could be cooling. He loved rolling out the dough and using cookie cutters to make all kinds of Christmas cookies.

When cousins Logan and Korben arrived it was fun chaos in the kitchen! They all had a blast rolling dough, getting flour all over themselves and decorating and eating cookies.

Cookie Man 1

Our neighbor gave us a Christmas gift of gingerbread men, icing, sprinkles & cinnamon buttons. Max calls them "cookie men" and although he didn't eat any of the cookies he had a blast icing and decorating.

Decorating Christmas Tree

This was the first year that Max really understood and got excited about the Christmas tree. He was so excited to put ornaments on the tree.

Most of the decorations we have are mine from years of ornaments from Grandma. Although they are beautiful and have memories they aren't our families memories and they are a bit fragile for Max. So we are starting our own family collection of ornaments. We wandered through Hobby Lobby and found several vehicle ornaments that Max loves (trains, police cars, fire trucks & construction vehicle.) Now he is constantly taking them off and putting them on the tree. He also likes the fake candy canes which he will hang in one row on one branch.

He likes our little nativity set and I keep finding them all lined up in a row. I told him who everyone was when we first put them out and he calls the wisemen; "professor wisemans" (a character from Curious George.) I came in this morning to find the nativity set and all of his favorite ornaments lined up.

Thomas Lego Train

A while back we picked up this Thomas Lego train set. Max loves building with his large Lego blocks and we had thought to get him more of them. But while shopping we decided that he was ready for the smaller (still mid-size) legos.

(I love seeing his little tongue sticking out of his mouth as he concentrates.)

He was of course excited about anything Thomas and anything train. He had a blast playing with it with his Dad. He has a bit of a tough time putting it together but will definitely enjoy it as he grows into it. Right now he mostly plays with the Lego Thomas and James putting them together in random ways.

November Snow

Max was so excited to go out and shovel snow with his Daddy.
One of Max's favorite books has been "Little Critters Snow Day." So, he never calls it just snow...he looks outside and says, "snow day!"

Better Have Hot Cocoa

Max was playing happily when he suddenly walked over to me, took my hand and said...

"I freezing. Better have hot cocoa."
