We went with cousins Logan and Korben to their ward Halloween party where we played games, won prizes and went trick-or-treating through the halls of the church. Another day we met them at the Nightmare Express, a little train that you actually get to ride through fun spooky tunnels. Then they came to our ward party, where we had a trunk-or-treat, played games, won prizes, ate dinner and Max got to have a train painted on his face. After the party we let the kids stay up and play while we watched Zorro The Gay Blade.
Halloween night we made cookies and took them to our neighbors while trick-or-treating. (Next year I will do the treats the night before because they all seemed surprised and unsure of what to do when we handed them treats.) For the first time Max figured out what was really going on and was excited to go from house to house, seeing his neighbors and getting candy. Luckily for us, he had no interest in actually eating the candy. We finished up the night by watching It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown."
