Girl's Weekend: My little Boy's New Room

Kimber's Invitation:
Okay, so this isn't a baby shower at all, it's a girls night out and showering is totally optional.
Kara is pretty much set for boy #2 so we're going to take advantage of this rare opportunity to have a girls night with no babies attached (except for the one hanging on to Kara for the next 8 weeks). The invite requires me to put a time and "anytime" wasn't an option but "anytime" is the time with "early evening" preferable. The only set activities we have are dinner and games with plenty of teenish giggling and the occasional teary eyes of girly emotions. A chic flick is possible, sleep and bras completely optional.
So get your babysitters, pack your jammies, bring your favorite bag/box/pan of goodies 'cause we're having a sleepover!!

Yay to all the "YES" replies for Kara's (non) baby shower! We were initially going to let it just be a lazy, game-playing weekend without any real plans but after talking with Kara and me still kind of wanting to make it a little about her and her baby coming, we've come up with a few more plans. So here are the details . . . and let's pray we can get it all in.

Kara was intending to paint the boys bedroom but since she didn't know if she was having a boy or a girl she couldn't decide on colors. When she found out that she was having a boy she picked the colors but had lost the umph to paint - thank you pregnant body :D So . . . we are gonna paint. Bring your grubbies. We'll empty the room and prime the whole thing Friday afternoon and then go to dinner while it dries. It would probably also be good to get one coat of the green painted over the paneling in case it needs a second coat the next day. Depending on how late that goes we can still play games or just continue painting. {Personally, I think a game or two while high on paint fumes would be hilarious!}

Saturday morning we're gonna have a hearty breakfast (sponsored by Khop http://anotherdaydone.blogspot.com/2009/09/kimbers-kitchen.html) and then continue with the makeover. We'll finish up the painting, set up the crib, move Max's bed back in and decorate. We can do it girls!!! Ty and his extreme home make over crew have nothing on us - we've got girl power!!!! Even if you don't feel like painting walls, every project needs cheerleaders and Kara will be happy to have someone observe and point with her.
After that we can air out our heads on a walk outside on the clear sidewalk in the jacket only beautiful weather of Utah. Do I sound envious? I am!
So . . . is it still a YES? I think it will be a blast!
Oh, and BTW . . . welcome aboard Caytlyn and Erika. You will keep us feeling young as we stay up way to late and avoid all adult responsibilities :D Love you girls!
Kimber

Kimber organized a girl's weekend at my house. It wasn't meant to be a baby shower exactly but when she asked what I wanted to do I jokingly said they could paint my little boy's room. She thought it would be a fun activity and everyone else jumped on board. Kimber, Erika, Caytlyn, Cami & Kata all came over Friday night and made short work of taking down the room, priming and painting. In between coats of paint we picked up dinner at Red Robin. They finished up the last coat late Friday night and everyone stayed up much too late talking and giggling.

Saturday morning they cleaned up all the paint stuff, moved in Max's bed, put together the crib and put everything back in my new little boy's room. It is SO CUTE!!! The green paint completely gives the paneling a different look and the room looks so fresh.

All the Girls...

After everyone gussied they went for a shopping spree while I took a nap. That evening we played games and watched a chic flick while we helped Kata put together her nursery lesson. It was such a fun weekend!!! I enjoyed all the girls and I am so grateful that they would all get together to give me a darling new boy's room.
THANK YOU!!!!!
